Energetic
Often responsive to space, anticipation, breath, subtlety, eye contact, and the charge of what has not happened yet.
A recorded somatic learning experience
Recognize what is genuinely alive, what may be protecting you, and what becomes possible when you have more choice.
Erotic Blueprint language can give us a powerful way to understand turn-on. Yet behavior alone cannot tell us whether we are seeing an authentic preference, a current nervous system state, a protective strategy, a learned performance, or a layered combination. Protection is not a failure of erotic development. It may be the body’s intelligent response to conditions that have not been safe enough.
If the Erotic Blueprints are new to you
Created by Jaiya, the Erotic Blueprint™ Framework describes five broad pathways through which people may experience and express erotic aliveness. It offers language for understanding why one form of attention, sensation, context, or meaning can feel deeply activating for one person and barely register for another.
Often responsive to space, anticipation, breath, subtlety, eye contact, and the charge of what has not happened yet.
Often responsive to the full sensory environment, including texture, scent, sound, beauty, temperature, atmosphere, and whole-body pleasure.
Often responsive to what is unmistakably sexual, including direct desire, nudity, explicit language, genital focus, and orgasm.
Often responsive to psychological charge, taboo, power, role, ritual, sensation, consensual asymmetry, and personal meaning.
Often responsive across the full range of Blueprint languages and may need variety, complexity, novelty, or fluency among several pathways.
Most people are not only one Blueprint. You may recognize a primary pathway, a broader Blueprint stack, different expressions in different relationships, or changes across stages of life. The framework is a map of possible pathways, not a complete explanation of the person.
Every exploration begins with embodied consent. Establishing and continually tracking a state of “safe-enough” is a precursor to expanding into any Blueprint™ expression. The body needs enough orientation, choice, and capacity for authentic erotic expansion to become available.
A starting point rather than a conclusion
The Erotic Blueprint quiz can be a useful beginning. It can reflect how you answer questions at a particular time and suggest the languages you recognize most readily. The in-depth version can also show how the five types appear within your reported pleasure profile.
A quiz cannot observe what happens in your body across real situations. It cannot determine why a preference is present, whether you retain choice, or whether the expression is being shaped by current capacity, attachment expectation, protection, learned performance, pain, stress, physical conditions, or the relational field.
Before we ask what is authentic
Before we ask whether an Erotic Blueprint™ is being authentically expressed, we have to acknowledge the world in which that body lives.
Sexual violence, coercion, objectification, dismissal, retaliation, and breaches of trust are not abstract possibilities. Women carry much of this burden, though people of every gender can experience sexual harm.
Of course protection may be present.
For many of us, protection is not an obstacle to eroticism. It is an intelligent response to what has happened, what we have witnessed, and what we know can happen.
The body may become vigilant, guarded, pleasing, performing, disconnected, controlling, numb, or very careful. These responses do not mean you are broken—or disconnected from your “real” Blueprint. They may mean your nervous system has been working hard to preserve choice, dignity, belonging, or survival.
Authentic sexual expression does not mean being perpetually open, available, relaxed, or uninhibited.
The work is not to strip away protection, pressure the body into vulnerability, or use regulation practices to tolerate what is not actually safe. Personal healing cannot make an unsafe person, relationship, institution, or culture safe. Safety is not solely an individual responsibility.
Your body should never be asked to regulate its way into tolerating what is not actually safe.
Instead, we can meet protection with respect and curiosity:
What is this response protecting?
What conditions would allow my body to experience more choice?
What boundaries, accountability, consistency, repair, and trust would need to be present?
Protection does not need to disappear for authenticity to begin. It needs to be listened to.
As enough safety is experienced—not merely promised or demanded, but demonstrated—the body may gain more room to discern: Is this my desire? Is this my Erotic Blueprint™? Is this an adaptation that once helped me survive? Is this a no, a not yet, or a yes that can emerge at my pace?
The invitation is not to become less protective. It is to become more free to choose.
Why the distinction matters
You may already know your Erotic Blueprint. You may have taken a quiz, recognized yourself in one or more types, or tried to understand a partner through Blueprint language. That information can be useful. It can also become a fixed identity, a compatibility verdict, or a shortcut that keeps us from listening more carefully.
The central reframe
The behavior is data. It is not the whole story. An erotic behavior is not automatically an erotic truth.
The purpose is not to decide whether your Blueprint is “real” or “fake”—or to make protection disappear. The purpose is to become more accurate about native desire, protective amplification, protective inhibition, and what becomes available when safety is demonstrated and more choice becomes possible.
Your preferred erotic language, context, sensation, and pathways.
Your current capacity for sensation, safety, presence, activation, or shutdown.
What the behavior may help you manage, secure, avoid, control, discharge, or preserve.
Inside the learning experience
The aim is not to find the right label faster. It is to develop a more accurate way of listening.
The difference between an Erotic Blueprint, your present state, and a protective strategy.
Why the same erotic behavior can emerge from very different inner processes.
How protection may imitate, exaggerate, suppress, or narrow each Blueprint.
How to track choice, presence, flexibility, function, pacing, and what you feel afterward.
How the 20 to 30 percent slower experiment can reveal information that intensity hides.
Questions that support curiosity with yourself or a partner instead of assuming what a behavior means.
What is included
A 27-minute visual presentation guiding you through the Blueprint, state, and protection map; the five protective overlays; and a somatic discernment process you can use without trying to diagnose yourself or someone else.
A 17-page companion guide with fill-in areas, reflection questions, protective-overlay maps, somatic discernment prompts, and the “Do not assume. Also Ask” integration table.
Your answers may change with context, relationship, stress, health, pain, trust, and capacity. Return to the material as you learn more about what helps you remain present and choiceful.
Who this is for
This material is designed to help you become more honest about what opens you, more curious about what protects you, and more able to notice the conditions that support genuine erotic aliveness. You do not need to know your Blueprint before beginning.
Begin with curiosity
Let the questions open more choice rather than becoming another identity to perform.

About Connie Eberhart
NeuroSomatic Sexologist · STREAM Pelvic Care Specialist · Sex+Intimacy Coach
I am Connie Eberhart, a NeuroSomatic Sexologist, STREAM Pelvic Care Specialist, Sexological Bodyworker, and Sex+Intimacy Coach. I began my private apprenticeship with Jaiya in 2013 and currently serve as a Master Trainer & Lead Coach in The Erotic Blueprints™. I continue to work and travel internationally with Jaiya to support her VIP clientele and retreats.
Since 2015, I have supported individuals and couples in trauma and scar reconciliation, pleasure reclamation, and the development of more authentic erotic expression. My work brings Erotic Blueprint™ literacy into conversation with nervous system capacity, attachment tendencies, embodied consent, parts work, attunement, and relational neurobiology.
Before expanding into Blueprint™ expression, I work at the pace of the body and the speed of trust. We map and track the experience as it unfolds—listening for embodied consent, orientation, choice, and capacity—so the body remains within “safe-enough” conditions, inside the Window of Presence and its Range of Resilience. Expansion is invited only when it can be experienced without overriding protection.
You may have been introduced to the Erotic Blueprints™ on Netflix. Now you get to benefit from your very own “Sex, Love & Goop” experience!
This reflects the work that I do when I support clients in a multi-day, high-touch Intimacy Unfurling Immersion Retreat.
I created this material because categories are most useful when they help us listen more carefully, not when they replace inquiry.
What sets my work apart
There are many coaches, and there are many bodyworkers. Much of what is called somatic work is still talk only. My work can include trauma-informed whole bodywork, consensual hands-on education, and direct-experience learning.
This means that you do more than understand an idea. You have opportunities to embody the learning, rehearse new possibilities, and support the nervous system as it rewires and repatterns. We listen deeply to the wisdom of your body, at the pace of your nervous system, while working with the seen and unseen aspects of patterns and imprints. Psyche and soma. From patterns to presence.
Questions
No. Familiarity may help, but the presentation explains the map well enough for you to begin. The focus is less on finding the perfect label and more on discerning what is happening beneath a behavior.
No. The quiz can offer a helpful starting point and language for your reported preferences, but it cannot observe your body across contexts or determine the function beneath a behavior. If you already have results, this presentation will help you hold them with more nuance.
Both. Use the material for personal reflection or explore it alongside a partner. It should never be used to diagnose or assign a Blueprint or protective pattern to someone else.
The material does not divide expression into “real” or “fake.” It helps you notice whether an expression increases presence, agency, flexibility, and choice; whether it serves a protective function; or whether both are true at the same time.

A personalized next step
Some patterns become clearer through self-reflection. Others are difficult to see from inside the pattern itself. An Intimacy Unfurling Mapping Session offers a personalized exploration of your Blueprint language, current nervous system capacity, attachment expectations, protective strategies, and relational field.
It is designed to be meaningful even if it is the only work we do together. Continued support and a hands-on Immersion Retreat are available when a deeper process would be useful.
